It's far from business as usual in Brussels. A sentiment shared across Europe as trade relations change and geopolitical tensions rise. Meanwhile negotiations on the next EU budget continue, and the successors of Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe take shape. Within this context, Neth-ER hosted its 2025 network conference, Double Knowledge, at the Residence Palace in Brussels. The Dutch knowledge sector presented its position to the European Commission and Parliament, calling for greater cooperation and investments in education, research and innovation to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. United Through Knowledge

The attendees received Neth-ER’s latest publication, United Through Knowledge, which highlights 24 international projects and examples of European knowledge collaboration. The projects cover a wide variety of subjects; from CO2 conversion research under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions to lecturers developing sustainability competencies through Erasmus+. The publication shows the power of international collaboration, joint agenda-setting and EU funding for education, research, and innovation. United Through Knowledge appears at a crucial time, as Europe’s knowledge sector closely monitors developments in the next Multiannual Financial Framework. Neth-ER has also recently published its response to the European Commission’s proposals for Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe.
